Mr. Sugarman is a graduate of Stanford University with a degree in Economics. He was a principal with a private development company and the president of a private mortgage company prior to joining MKA in 2000 where he became President in 2002. Since joining MKA, Mr. Sugarman has been responsible for the creation of the onshore and offshore funds managed by MKA. Total assets under management at MKA have increased by fifteen-fold since Mr. Sugarman joined the firm. His primary responsibility is the management of capital at MKA. Mr. Sugarman is involved with both the raising of new assets as well as MKA's investment allocations. Mr. Sugarman has served on the board of directors for a number of private and public companies.
